Research

You monitor and sense-make defence and security developments. On this, you conduct research and build knowledge repositories on the digital domain. You also collaborate with various stakeholders to validate preliminary assessments. Your challenge lies in having to process large amounts of data as well as keeping abreast on developments and providing quick-cycle intelligence to key stakeholders.

You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably with Social Science majors such as Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Sociology and Geography or STEMS subjects such as Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems Engineering and Electrical Engineering. Prior work experience in the field of research is advantageous. Possession of effective communication skills as well as the willingness to learn is essential.

You assist in conducting longer-term research, and providing analytical research reports for the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS). On this, you process, sense-make and analyse intelligence to provide in-depth reports to support operations. You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Psychology or any related field, with at least 6 years' experience in working with multiple agencies as a branch head or equivalent. You should have experience with coaching, mentoring and career development of subordinates. You must possess strong interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex situations.

You lead a section in conducting civil dimension research of specific domain, and produce research products to support the Army and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). On this, you lead research and organise relevant information from a wide variety of sources and media contents. You also effectively drive collaboration with stakeholders. Your challenge lies in constantly staying ahead of the current situation by anticipating emerging and potential issues, and by keeping abreast of regional and global developments in the related area of work.

You must have a tertiary qualification, with at least 6 years' of relevant experience. Having completed the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff Course or an equivalent overseas military command and staff course is advantageous. You should have a sound understanding of regional geo-politics. You must be able to confidently multitask, lead a team, and handle all matters related to the assigned area of work. In addition, you should be prepared to take on lead roles in ad-hoc task force setups.

You identify key research areas, guide research efforts, and formulate assessments based on your findings. On this, you develop subject matter expertise in your area of coverage. You also need a good understanding of the defence and security landscape in the region.

You must have tertiary qualification, preferably in Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, International Studies, Security Studies, with at least 6 years' relevant working experience preferably in analysis or research roles. Possession of strong analytical, proficient writing, communication and interpersonal skills is essential. You should also have a keen interest in regional geo-political and military developments.

You assist in the administration of the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) security governance framework, including audit and governance, as well as education and investigations. You govern security compliance through planning, coordinating and conducting security audits and inspections, and enforcing security policies, directives and instructions across the units within the DIS to build a strong security culture. Your challenge lies in keeping abreast of the myriad of security policies developed and amended by the different security domain SMES. You must be able to contextualise these policies to the unique operating environment of DIS units. Additionally, you need to engage a wide range off stakeholders and be receptive to feedback and ground constraints. Lastly, you need to be able to achieve a fine balance between policy demands and ground practice, to ensure that security measures remain viable in the long-run.

You must have a tertiary qualification, with 6 years' relevant experience, preferably in the security domain. Possession of certifications in security/investigations-related fields, such as the Certified Protection Professional-ASIS, WSQ Diploma in Security, or Professional Diploma in Security Consultancy, is advantageous. Having effective communications skills and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations is also required.

You also have to engage and maintain close collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Social Science majors such as Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Sociology and Geography. A strong command of written and spoken English is necessary. You should possess strong organisation, time management and interpersonal skills, and can work under pressure to meet set deadlines. You are part of a team that plans and implements the Army’s defence relations activities and events involving principals from MINDEF/SAF and foreign delegations, including protocol and hospitality arrangements. You also act as an advisor on matters relating to protocol to other stakeholders in the organisation. Your challenge lies in operating in a rapidly-changing and diverse security environment and working with tight deadlines.

You must have a tertiary qualification, preferably in Strategic/Security Studies, International Relations or a related field. You should have a good awareness of geo-strategic developments, regional terrorism and security landscape. Familiarity with data-basing and analytics tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Tableau would be an asset. You should also be independent and conscientious in meeting tasking deadlines amidst time pressure. The ability to communicate and work well with others would be advantageous. Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
