About the role
You drive strategic budget planning for Air Engineering and Logistics Department (AELD) and support the Head Air Engineering and Logistics' financial responsibilities while leading a team.

 

What you will be working on

  • Plan and secure operations budget requirements
  • Support current readiness and long term build up plans for the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) maintenance and supplies operations, plans with sustainable ops cost growth
  • Oversee departmental resource budget allocation
  • Coordinate with external financial agencies for finance policies and governance matters and provides support to all financial studies, policy reviews

 

Challenge(s)

  • Managing limited financial resources while meeting operational requirements
  • Understanding the RSAF operations to effectively prioritise platform and system needs
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of finance, procurement, and logistics policies

 

What we are looking for

What you will be working on

  • Implement cloud cost governance and optimisation practices by establishing cloud cost management policies, processes, and standards
  • Drive cloud financial accountability and reporting by developing and maintaining cloud cost models, budgets, and forecasting methodologies
  • Provide accurate and timely reports on cloud usage, costs, and billing to stakeholders
  • Promote a culture of FinOps and cloud cost awareness across users of SAF Cloud
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enable cost transparency and accountability
  • Conduct training and awareness programs on FinOps best practices and cost optimisation strategies

 

Challenge(s)

  • Managing the complexity of cloud environments with diverse services, pricing models, and usage patterns across multiple cloud implemented by the SAF, ensuring accurate cost allocation and chargeback mechanisms

What we are looking for

  • Education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Cloud computing certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Azure Cloud Fundamentals) and FinOps certifications (Certified FinOps Practitioner, Certified FinOps Professional)
  • Having familiarity with managing complex resource allocation and cost optimisation initiatives in mission-critical contexts
