EVENT DETAILS

1. What is Navy@Vivo 2023?

Following a hiatus of four years because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Navy@Vivo 2023 (NV23) returns with crowd favourites such as a ship visit on board one of the Navy's largest ships - RSS Endeavour, together with a shore exhibition within VivoCity's premises and various performances at the VivoCity Amphitheatre. The tagline for NV23 is 'Our Sea, Our Mission, Our Home' which aims to highlight the role the Navy plays as a Maritime Force for our Maritime Nation. Visitors will also get an opportunity to embark on a Maritime Experience to learn about the role they can play in the defence of Singapore.

2. Where and when will the NV23 be held?

NV23 is happening at VivoCity from 17 to 19 November 2023, and is open to public. Our Endurance-class Landing Ship Tank, RSS Endeavour will be berthed alongside the VivoCity Promenade while the shore exhibition is located at Central Court at level one of VivoCity. NV23 will be open from 9am to 9pm.

3. How can I get to VivoCity?

a. BY BUS 
Services: 10, 30, 30e, 57, 61, 65, 80, 97, 97e, 100, 123, 131, 143, 145, 166, 855

b. BY MRT
Take the NorthEast or Circle Line, and alight at the HarbourFront Station.

c. BY TAXI
There are two taxi drop-off and pick-up points to ensure the ease of getting a cab.

d. BY CAR
From the East Coast Parkway Expressway (ECP)/Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE), take the Keppel Road exit. Head towards Telok Blangah Road and follow the road signs leading to VivoCity. VivoCity has a 7-storey and basement carpark with more than 2,000 carpark spaces. Parking charges apply.

4. What can I expect to see at the NV23?

Shore Exhibition (Free Access)
(Location: Central Court, VivoCity, L1)

The shore exhibition is split into three zones. In the first zone, visitors can learn more about the importance of the sea to Singapore and how we are reliant on sea trade to gain access to our daily necessities. In the second zone, visitors can look forward to interactive exhibits where they can learn more about the role the Navy plays as the Maritime Force that safeguards our Maritime Nation. For the first time, visitors will be able to visit a new submarine exhibit and experience how underwater operations are conducted, and also have a hands-on experience at virtual simulators similar to the ones used by the Navy for training. In the third zone, visitors will be able to embark on a Maritime Experience at the immersive theatre and learn how the Navy conducts multi-dimensional warfare against surface, air and sub-surface threats.

RSS Endeavour Ship Visit (Ticketed)
(Location: Promenade, VivoCity, L1)

The Navy's Endurance-class Landing Ship Tank RSS Endeavour will be berthed alongside at VivoCity Promenade. Visitors will be able to see first-hand what it takes to operate the Navy's largest ship and also be able to learn more about the roles and capabilities of the LSTs, as well as the various operations and exercises that the ships have participated in. Visitors will also be able to get up close with the S-70B Seahawk Naval Helicopter that will be on display on RSS Endeavour's flight deck. 

Fast Craft Utility Rides (Ticketed)
(Location: Promenade, VivoCity, L1)

Visitors can enjoy a ride on the FCU, which will take them on a journey through Singapore's maritime heritage. Visitors can expect stunning views of the Singapore skyline as the FCU sails along our southern coastline past key maritime landmarks, such as Tanjong Berlayer, Pulau Bukom, as well as the Keppel and Brani Container Terminals. 

Live Performances (Ticketed)
(Location: Amphitheatre, VivoCity, L3)

Visitors can look forward to live performances at the VivoCity Amphitheatre, such as the Boat Physical Training demonstrations by the Naval Diving Unit, a naval-themed performance by the SAF Central Band, and an energetic song repertoire by the SAF Music and Drama Company.

Storytelling at library@harbourfront (Ticketed)
(Location: library@harbourfront, VivoCity, L3)

Storytelling sessions for the young will also be conducted at the library@harbourfront where our men and women from the Navy will be reading stories from the Ahoy, Navy! series of children's books, with a different story told at each session.

5. What highlights/new additions are there for this year's NV23?

Visitors can look forward to an immersive theatre as part of the shore exhibition where they will learn how our Formidable-class frigates conduct multi-dimensional warfare against surface, air and sub-surface threats. Visitors will also be able to visit a new submarine exhibit to gain a deeper insight into underwater operations, and have a hand at virtual simulators similar to the ones the Navy uses for training.

6. Can I bring my camera to NV23 and on board the ship?

Yes, photography is allowed and you may bring your camera to NV23. Our friendly Navy ambassadors will let you know if there are any areas on board the ship where photography is not allowed.

7. Can I smoke at the NV23?

Smoking is not allowed on board the ship and FCU. Smoking prohibited areas listed under the Smoking (Prohibition in Certain Places) Regulations 2018 by NEA also applies.

Pets are not allowed on board the ship and FCU.

9. Is there anything else that I should take note of? How do I beat the queue? What can I not bring on board?

  • Security checks will be carried out at the VivoCity Promenade before visitors are allowed to board the ship. Therefore, to facilitate quicker crowd movement, we strongly advise visitors to avoid bringing large bags and bulky items to NV23. 
     
  • Prohibited items on board the ship and FCU:

o Weapons or replicas (including toy guns, air guns and pellet guns)
o Glass containers
o Sharp metal objects
o Other items that may be considered a security threat

  • Bulky items like prams can be deposited at the security check area before boarding the ship.

TICKETING

10. Do I need tickets to visit NV23?

Tickets are required for the RSS Endeavour ship visit, FCU rides, performances at the VivoCity Amphitheatre and storytelling sessions at library@harbourfront. Members of the public can ballot for these free tickets online.

However, balloting is now closed.

11. Why is there a need to ballot for tickets?

Balloting of tickets is required to facilitate crowd management as a high volume of visitors is expected.

12. How do I know if I have successfully balloted for a ticket?

Visitors who have successfully balloted for tickets will be notified by 6 November 2023 via the email address they have balloted with. Visitors will receive the e-tickets from admin@navyvivo.sg.

13. Do I have to print the confirmation email?

You may show the confirmation email or e-ticket through your mobile device for verification purposes.

14. I have accidentally deleted the confirmation email. How can I retrieve it?

You can submit a request to us at NV23@defence.gov.sg, using the email that you had registered with us. Please provide name and contact number. Upon validation, we will re-issue the e-ticket.

15. I have received an email from the Singapore Navy requesting for additional information for my ballot attempt, what should I do?

The Navy@Vivo 2023 Committee will not ask for any additional information beyond what was previously requested in the ballot form.

16. What should I do if I encounter a possible phishing email?

If you encounter a possible phishing email relating to Navy@Vivo 2023, please inform us at NV23@defence.gov.sg.

17. Do I need separate tickets for the ship visit and the FCU ride?

Yes, the ship visit and FCU ride require separate tickets as there will be separate queues for both. Please note that visitors who successfully balloted for the FCU rides will be allowed to proceed with the LST ship visit after the ride. However, as tickets for the FCU rides are limited in quantity, visitors who are keen only on the ship visit are highly encouraged to ballot only for the LST ship visit to increase their chances of success.

18. Am I able to change the time slot/date of my tickets?

We seek your kind understanding that we are unable to change the timing of tickets that have been balloted due to the huge volume of applications expected. Ship visits and FCU rides are conducted based on a fixed timeslot and visitors will be granted entry for ship visit based on the ticket timeslot. Latecomers may not be allowed for boarding.

19. Am I allowed to re-enter the ship after exiting?

No, re-entry will not be allowed.

20. Can I transfer my ticket to someone else? 

Yes. You may transfer your ticket to your friend or family member by providing them with the email confirmation. However, do note that utilised tickets cannot be re-used.

21. Can I sell my ticket to others? Can I buy a ticket from online and/or physical platforms? Will the ticket be valid? 

Reselling of tickets are not allowed. We reserve the right to cancel any tickets that are not obtained through official channels. The RSN is not responsible for guaranteeing the authenticity of tickets not obtained directly through the RSN, and the loss of cash or kind as a result.

22. Does an infant or 2-year-old child require a ticket?

Yes, everyone boarding the ship or FCU, or going for the activities at VivoCity Amphitheatre or library@harbourfront will require a ticket. For safety reasons, visitors who are unable to make their way on board the LST independently, or with minimal assistance, will not be allowed to participate in either the FCU ride or LST ship visit. As such, infant-in-arms (including in baby carrier) will not be allowed on board the LST due to steep staircases and narrow passageways on board the ship.

RSS ENDEAVOUR SHIP VISIT / FCU RIDE

24. Do I need a ticket for the ship visit / FCU ride? How much do the tickets cost?

Yes, admission to the ship for the visit and/or FCU ride is by balloted tickets only and successful applicants will be notified by email. The tickets are free-of-charge.

25. What if I am late for my balloted time? Can I go on the next visit?

Ship visits and FCU rides are conducted based on balloted timeslots and visitors will be required to arrive at the ship half an hour before their allocated timeslots. Due to the large number of visitors expected, latecomers may not be allowed to board or join the visit midway.

26. Are there any restrictions on who can participate in the ship visit and/or FCU ride?

For safety reasons, visitors who are unable to make their way on board the LST independently, or with minimal assistance, will not be allowed to participate in either the FCU ride or LST ship visit. As such, visitors with mobility difficulties, infant-in-arms (including in baby carrier) or pregnant women will not be allowed on board the LST due to steep staircases and narrow passageways on board the ship.

In addition, children under 0.9m will not be allowed to participate in the FCU ride. Visitors with motion sickness or health problems (such as heart conditions, seizures or high blood pressure) are strongly advised not to participate in the FCU ride. This is because the FCU ride will conduct high speed manoeuvres and might encounter choppy waves.

27. Is there any dress code for the ship visit and FCU ride?

For safety reasons, high heels, sandals, slippers or any open-toed footwear are strictly prohibited. Ladies are advised to wear pants or shorts for the visit and to avoid wearing skirts or dresses.

28. Is there insurance coverage for visitors on board the ship or FCU ride?

While the ship visit and FCU ride have been planned and designed with safety in mind, there are still some inherent risks involved. Visitors are responsible for their own safety, and need to agree to our Terms and Conditions found on the website before balloting for tickets. Visitors will need to agree to our Terms and Conditions before balloting for tickets.

30. What happens if there is inclement weather?

In the event of inclement weather, the organiser reserves the right to suspend or cancel the FCU rides and ship visits due to safety considerations. To ensure the safety of all visitors, FCU rides will also be cancelled in the event of lightning risks. 

All other indoor attractions at VivoCity will continue as usual.

Food, drinks and smoking are not allowed on board the ship.

32. What time is the Ceremonial Sunset ceremony? How long does it last? Are we able to board the ship during this time?

The Ceremonial Sunset ceremony will be held at 6.20pm to 7.15pm daily from 17 to 19 November 2023. Boarding will be suspended temporarily during this period to prevent overcrowding on the flight deck.

Only ticket holders for the ship visit or FCU ride will be granted entry to the ship based on their allocated timeslot.

RSS Endeavour is expected to reach VivoCity in the afternoon of 14 Nov 2023.

37. Can I fly a drone during the FCU ride to take video/photos of myself? Can I fly a drone to take aerial shots of RSS Endeavour?

Please refer and adhere to the CAAS regulations on flying drones around the VivoCity area. For the safety of other visitors, drones are not allowed to be used during the FCU ride.

38. Is there mobile phone coverage when the FCU goes out to sea?

There might be limited mobile coverage out at sea. We recommend that you turn off your mobile roaming function to avoid being inadvertently registered on, and charged by, foreign mobile networks.

39. I do not know how to swim – is this a requirement for the FCU rides?

Safety is of utmost importance to us. Swimming is not a requirement for the FCU rides but all participants will have to wear life jackets before they board the FCU.

40. Will there be narrations during the ship visit/FCU ride? What languages will there be?

There will be narrations in English during the FCU ride. No narrations will be provided for the ship visit.
