Responsibilities

As a Naval Warfare System Expert (Electronics), you are responsible for ensuring our ships are combat-ready at all times, aided by our naval combat, communication and navigation technology. Depending on your specialisation and training, you will be deployed in navigation, communication, underwater warfare, command and control, or weapon systems. 

Navigation Systems

Using charts, advanced radar and a multitude of navigation gadgets, you will learn to navigate your warship to safety in our waters and beyond.

Communication Systems

Working with an array of intricate equipment to send and receive information for your ship, you play an instrumental role in establishing and maintaining vital communication during maritime operations.

Underwater Warfare Systems

In this arena, you will hone your knowledge in the use of modern sonar and mine-hunting equipment to detect and eliminate underwater threats.

Command and Control Systems

With the equipment and technology on board, you will be trained to observe and make sense of ever-changing battle situations while identifying and managing air, surface and sub-surface threats.

Weapons Systems

From guns to long-range missiles, you will be able to operate a vast range of weaponry to neutralise any possible threat to your ship.

Diploma, Higher NITEC, NITEC or equivalent

Basic Requirements

  1. Singapore Citizen or Singapore PR intending to take up citizenship
  2. Medically fit (PES B1 and above)
  3. Normal colour perception

Receive full sponsorship of tuition fees and other approved charges at a local polytechnic, as well as a monthly allowance and study bonus.
