Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad is in Indonesia from 17 to 18 September 2024 to attend the Bali International Airshow (BIA) 2024. The BIA serves as a platform to bring together the international defence and aerospace communities and was attended by government and defence officials, as well as industry and business leaders from around the world. Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investments Luhut Pandjaitan officiated the opening ceremony on 18 September.

The Singapore Armed Forces will deploy an A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport and two C-130 transport aircraft to deliver humanitarian aid supplies to communities affected by Typhoon Yagi in Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam.

Also present were Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II of Brunei Darussalam Pehin Halbi Yussof, Minister of Development of Brunei Darussalam Dato Juanda Abdul Rashid, and Minister of Transport and Infocommunications of Brunei Darussalam Dato Shamhary Mustapha. They were accompanied by Senior Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office of Singapore Mr Desmond Tan, Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, Chief of Staff – General Staff Brigadier General Tan Cheng Kwee, as well as senior officials from Singapore and Brunei.

The homecoming ceremony for the Republic of Singapore Navy’s (RSN) Invincible-class submarine, Invincible, was held earlier today at RSS Singapura - Changi Naval Base. Fleet Commander RADM Kwan Hon Chuong, senior RSN officers and submariners were present to witness the homecoming ceremony.
