In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Singapore and Thailand diplomatic relations, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Exercise Directors unveiled a commemorative tail flash on an RSAF F-16 fighter aircraft during the opening ceremony of Exercise Air Thai Sing 2025 (ATS25) at Korat Air Base, Thailand earlier today.

President Tharman Shanmugaratnam hosted over 450 personnel from the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) to a reception at MINDEF this evening. First held in 1992, the annual reception serves to recognise the commitment of MINDEF/SAF personnel as well as personnel from the Defence Technology Community (DTC), and their valuable contributions towards the defence of Singapore. The reception also recognised the efforts of service personnel who contributed to Total Defence, to ensure that Singapore’s security and its way of life are safeguarded.

The Chief of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Air Marshal (AM) Stephen Chappell called on Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing earlier this afternoon. During their meeting, Mr Chan reaffirmed the strong bilateral defence relationship between Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the RAAF, and exchanged views on recent geopolitical developments.

The Singapore Army has concluded its investigation into the technical issue experienced by a Leopard 2SG Main Battle Tank (L2SG) on 5 July 2025. With the cause of the incident identified and rectified and additional precautions taken, the L2SGs will resume their participation in National Day Parade 2025.

The Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Defence Lieutenant General (LG) Tri Budi Utomo called on Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this morning. During their meeting, Mr Chan and LG Budi reaffirmed the strong and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Indonesia, and discussed ways to strengthen bilateral defence cooperation between both countries.
