In commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Singapore and Thailand diplomatic relations, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) Exercise Directors unveiled a commemorative tail flash on an RSAF F-16 fighter aircraft during the opening ceremony of Exercise Air Thai Sing 2025 (ATS25) at Korat Air Base, Thailand earlier today.
Hosted by the RTAF, ATS25, which is taking place from 14 to 24 Jul 2025, will involve eight aircraft and approximately 200 personnel from both air forces. Participants will engage in bilateral training missions, allowing them to hone and sharpen their operational competencies.
Unveiling the commemorative tail flash at the opening ceremony, RSAF Exercise Director, COL Ng Han Lin Max said, “This exercise is important for us to learn together with our RTAF counterparts, as well as to strengthen the close and longstanding defence relations we have shared for many years. This year’s exercise is a special one as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of both nations’ diplomatic relations. Our shared experiences in training together reflects the strong commitment and trust between both Air Forces and amongst our people.”
ATS25 and the commemorative tail flash underscore the strong defence ties between Singapore and Thailand. The RSAF and RTAF interact regularly through high-level visits, professional exchanges, cross-attendance of courses, and military exercises such as Exercise Cope Tiger. These interactions enhance the professionalism of both air forces and promote mutual understanding amongst their personnel.
