6 November 2026
Introduction
The Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS) Training Command (DTCOM) is responsible for developing and delivering training for all DIS vocations. Training delivered by DTCOM will strengthen the DIS’s operational capabilities and span the full breadth of a Guardian’s career, from foundational training to intermediate- and advanced-level expertise and leadership development. DTCOM brings together the DIS’s training entities to provide a more coordinated and structured approach to training, ensuring that Guardians are equipped with the competencies needed to operate effectively across six domains – Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Digital, C4 (Command, Control, Communications and Computers), Electronic Protection, and Information Defence. Through progressive training and continuous professional development, DTCOM seeks to develop a workforce that is dynamic, technically proficient and adaptable to the rapid evolution of emerging technologies and threats.

Intelligence Training Institute (Int-TI). Int-TI trains, develops, and inspires Intelligence professionals in the DIS. Besides professional competency development, Int-TI also inculcates core values and leadership skills amongst our Intelligence workforce, including Military Intelligence Experts (MIE), and Intelligence Research Assistant/ Intelligence Research Specialists, comprising Full-time National Servicemen (NSFs) and Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen). Through its training schools and wing, Int-TI develops the foundational knowledge, analytical competencies and professional expertise required by intelligence personnel to support the DIS’s intelligence operations. The training also emphasises sound judgement, critical thinking and professionalism, which are essential for intelligence personnel to perform their roles effectively.
Imagery and Geospatial School (IGS). IGS is the Imagery Intelligence (IMINT) and Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) training school that trains Guardians to support the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) with intelligence products, such as mapping for SAF training and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. Through specialised training in imagery interpretation and geospatial analysis, Guardians develop the skills to interpret visual and geographical information and transform them into intelligence products that support operational planning and decision-making. These competencies enable Guardians to contribute to the SAF’s situational awareness and operational effectiveness across a range of missions.
Intelligence Technology & Analysis School (ITAS). ITAS develops Guardians to harness digital and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies (such as cloud, big data, AI models, automation) to enhance information analysis and identify emerging threats to Singapore. This includes developing an understanding of the electromagnetic spectrum to analyse potential disruptive effects and protect Singapore digital domain. ITAS also develops Guardians’ ability to apply analysis and research tradecraft in their Intelligence appointments. Through its training, ITAS equips Guardians with the competencies to process and analyse large volumes of information by leveraging technological advancements and derive meaningful insights to support intelligence assessments in an increasingly complex information environment.
Joint Intelligence School (JIS). JIS is responsible for training Guardians and SAF Intelligence professionals to develop leadership skills, analytical competencies and appreciation of the geopolitical and regional security situation to accomplish their Intelligence appointments in the DIS and Joint. The school’s training strengthens intelligence professionals’ understanding of the broader strategic and operational environment, and develops their ability to assess security developments and their implications for Singapore. By bringing together intelligence professionals from across the SAF, JIS also promotes a common understanding of joint intelligence requirements and strengthens collaboration in support of SAF operations.
Open-Source Training Wing (OSTW). OSTW trains Guardians to utilise open-source information to support SAF situational awareness and decision-making. Through training in open-source information gathering, evaluation and analysis, Guardians develop the competencies to identify relevant information from publicly available sources and derive useful insights. These skills complement other intelligence capabilities and contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of developments in the information environment, supporting timely and informed decision-making.
Cyber Defence School (CDS). CDS equips cyber vocationalists with cybersecurity skills and knowledge to prepare them for their deployment to various MINDEF/SAF cyber defence entities. CDS conducts cyber defence training for C4 (Command, Control, Communications, Computers) Experts (C4X), Defence Cyber Experts (DCX), Cyber Specialists, Cyber Defence Operators, and Digital Specialists. Through progressive and specialised training, CDS develops the technical competencies required by cyber defenders to identify, assess and respond to evolving cyber threats. Its training seeks to equip personnel with practical skills and knowledge to safeguard MINDEF/SAF’s digital systems and networks, contribute to national cyber defence and strengthen their readiness to operate in an increasingly complex cyber threat environment. Beyond vocational training, CDS also contributes to building a stronger cybersecurity culture across MINDEF/SAF by promoting good cyber hygiene practices and awareness of cyber threats.
Advanced School for Continuous Education and Development (ASCEND). ASCEND is the dedicated institution for continuous learning and professional development for Guardians. ASCEND develops out-of-schoolhouse learning pathways to allow Guardians to learn, grow and develop professionally throughout their career. ASCEND works closely with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), industry and technology partners, as well as foreign partners, to ensure that Guardians maximise opportunities to up-skill and up-profile their professional development with cutting-edge and evolving content, while developing skills and knowledge that are relevant to the DIS’s needs. Through these efforts, ASCEND seeks to foster a lifelong learning culture within the DIS, ensuring that Guardians continue to grow professionally and remain equipped to meet the DIS’s evolving operational requirements.
