Reply to Media Queries on RSAF Peace Carvin V's participation in the Gunfighter Flag 16-2 exercise

"Every quarter, the United States Air Force (USAF) Air Combat Command's 366th Fighter Wing at Mountain Home Air Force Base (MHAFB) holds a week-long Gunfighter Flag (GFF) exercise.

The exercise involves multiple aircraft types (including fighters, bombers, transport, helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles), in realistic, complex and challenging simulated combat scenarios. Aircrew hone and test their air combat skills in realistic and challenging scenarios including simulated Air-to-Air adversaries and Surface-to-Air threats, while ground crew pit their skills against each other in flight preparation, aircraft servicing and maintenance to ensure that the aircraft is kept in optimal flying condition.

For the GFF 16-2 exercise, all units stationed at MHAFB, including the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) Peace Carvin V’s (PC V) F-15SG fighter detachment, as well as the RSAF Peace Carvin II’s F-16 detachment and external units from the United States Air Force, United States Navy, Air National Guard and United States Marine Corps, were invited to participate.

The RSAF’s PC V detachment, operating as the USAF's 428th Fighter Squadron, clinched the Overall Best Squadron award. In addition, five RSAF personnel were recognised with various awards for their professionalism and hard work in the exercise. They are: Top Overall Pilot and Air-to-Air Top Gun, Lieutenant (LTA) Calum Quek, Top Overall Weapons Systems Officer (Fighter), LTA Lee Wei Yuen, Top Air-to-Ground Top Gun Weapons Systems Officer (Fighter), Captain (CPT) Tan Oon Sing, Top Overall Wingman (Pilot), LTA Marvin Koh Ren Jie, and Top Crew Chief award, Military Expert 2 (ME2) Teoh Teck Lee."
