Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen hosted a dinner for 92 participating organisations and 235 sponsors in recognition of their support and contributions towards the National Day Parade (NDP) 2014. During the dinner, Dr Ng and Chief of Army Major-General Perry Lim presented certificates of appreciation to them for their hard work and dedication.

In his speech, Dr Ng thanked them for making NDP 2014 a resounding success. He said, "This year's NDP succeeded because it connected with Singaporeans emotionally. Singaporeans re-lived our past, felt more alive that day, and found renewed hope for tomorrow I want to thank you, each of you, for all your hard work and sacrifice and your sponsorship, whether you are participants, volunteers, partners or organising committee."This year's NDP theme, "Our People, Our Home", encouraged Singaporeans to celebrate the can-do attitude and caring spirit that hold Singaporeans together and make Singapore our home. This year's parade also saw the largest marching contingent on the floating platform that comprised over 2,000 participants from the uniformed services, businesses and community groups.

More than 100,000 spectators joined in the festivities at the Marina Bay Floating Platform and around the Marina Bay Waterfront.
