Response to The Straits Times Forum Letter on "Navy Open House"

Navy Appreciates Public Support for Navy Open House

We thank Mr Lim Poh Seng for his feedback in his letter "Navy Open House" published on 21 May 13.

The Republic of Singapore Navy was very grateful for the very strong and positive support for the Navy Open House. Despite increasing the number of buses this year, there were long queues for the free shuttle buses to the Navy Open House. To assist the public, we deployed marshals on the ground to inform the public of the expected waiting times. Signage indicating the approximate waiting times for the buses was also placed both within and outside of Changi Expo Hall 3. We seek the public's understanding and hope that the Navy Open House experience was an enjoyable one nonetheless.

As part of our commitment to provide a positive experience for our visitors, we will look into the feedback received from the public and we thank Mr Lim for his suggestion of a holding area for the elderly and families with babies while a family member stands in line.

We would like to thank Mr Lim and the public for their strong support in making the Navy Open House 2013 a success.
