The Total Defence Awards are presented to employers and civil resource owners in appreciation of their outstanding contributions to Total Defence. Participation in the Total Defence Awards is voluntary, where employers are required to complete the Total Defence Award Assessment Report premised on best National Service (NS) practices.
There are three different award categories:
Minister for Defence Award
The award is the highest accolade conferred on organisations that have shown
exemplary support for Total Defence. From 2005, recipients of the Minister for
Defence Award are also inducted into the Minister for Defence Awards (MiDAs)
League for a five-year term. The League is structured as an alumnus and members
serve as advocates for Total Defence.
Distinguished Defence Partner Award
The award is presented in appreciation of organisations that have consistently
demonstrated outstanding support for Total Defence.
Meritorious Defence Partner Award
The award is presented in appreciation of organisations that have shown commendable support for Total Defence.
Honorary Members of the MiDAs League
On the fifth year of their term, the MiDAs League members will be evaluated for NSfriendly policies and management of NS-related matters through an online assessment and/or an on-site visit. Organisations that continue to display outstanding commitment and support for Total Defence will be appointed as Honorary members of the MiDAs League, where they will serve another five-year term.
