646 MINDEF/SAF Personnel Recognised with National Day Awards

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen and Second Minister for Defence Mr Ong Ye Kung officiated at the National Day Awards Investiture held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this evening. This year, 646 personnel from MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) were recognised for their outstanding performance and dedication to duty and service.

A total of 92 Commendation Medals, 119 Efficiency Medals and 448 Long Service Medals were awarded to both military and non-military personnel. 13 personnel were awarded with both the Commendation/Efficiency Medal and the Long Service Medal. Spouses of the award recipients, as well as senior MINDEF officials and SAF officers were also present at the investiture.

At an earlier National Day Awards Ceremony on 5 November 2017, 52 MINDEF and SAF personnel received awards from President Halimah Yacob. Chief of Air Force Major-General Mervyn Tan Wei Ming, and Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Brigadier-General Lim Tuang Liang were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Military), and Deputy Secretary (Special Projects) and Defence Cyber Chief Mr David Koh Tee Hian was awarded with the Public Administration Medal (Gold). In addition, 13 SAF officers and five MINDEF personnel were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Silver) respectively, while 21 SAF officers and ten MINDEF personnel were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Bronze) respectively.
