Senior Warrant Officer (SWO) Chua Hong Hup enlisted into the Singapore Armed Forces as a Combat Engineer on 27 September 1996.
During his service in the organisation, SWO Chua has served in various key appointments across our Army, such as Regimental Sergeant Major for 39th Singapore Combat Engineer, Brigade Sergeant Major for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Explosives Defence Group (CBREDG), Formation Sergeant Major for Singapore Combat Engineer and Division Sergeant Major for 3rd Singapore Division. In his significant career milestone, SWO Chua was appointed as the Parade Regimental Sergeant Major for the SAF Day Parade 2018.
SWO Chua's professional portfolio spans an array of both local and overseas courses, which includes United Kingdom International Unit Search Advisors’ Course, United States Army Sergeants Major Course, SAF Joint Senior Leadership Course and Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College Executive Course. Complementing his professional upbringing, SWO Chua holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Factors in Safety with a minor in Military Studies from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
In recognition of his exemplary performance and dedicated service, SWO Chua has been conferred with several State awards, including the Efficiency Medal (Military) in 2016, the Long Service Medal (Military) in 2022, both Commendation (Covid-19) and Covid-19 Resilience Medals in 2024.
SWO Chua is happily married to his wife, Bee Chew.
