Mr Zaqy Mohamad was appointed Acting Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs in July 2026 and Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Defence in July 2020. He is concurrently the Deputy Leader of the House in the Parliament of Singapore. Mr Zaqy is also a Member of Parliament for Marsiling-Yew Tee GRC. Prior to this, Mr Zaqy served as Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment, and Ministry of Manpower, as Minister of State in the Ministry of National Development, as well as the Deputy Government Whip. He was also formerly Chairman of the Government Parliamentary Committee for Communications and Information.
