The Digital Ops-Tech Centre Enhances In-House Software Engineering for the SAF: Senior Minister for Defence Heng Chee How

Senior Minister of State (SMS) for Defence Heng Chee How visited the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS)’s Digital Ops-Tech Centre (DOTC) this morning, where he was briefed on the DOTC’s role and capabilities. SMS Heng viewed live demonstrations of digital products developed and launched by the DOTC to support the Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces (MINDEF/SAF)’s needs.

$200 in National Service (NS) LifeSG Credits to be Disbursed to 1.2 Million Past and Present National Servicemen

Singapore and Indian Navies Conclude Annual Maritime Bilateral Exercise

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Indian Navy (IN) conducted the annual Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise (SIMBEX) from 24 to 29 October 2024. This year’s exercise comprised a shore phase held at Visakhapatnam, India, followed by a sea phase held in the waters off Visakhapatnam and the Bay of Bengal.

268 Leaders Graduate from the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College

Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Heng Chee How officiated the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College (GKS CSC) Command and Staff Course (CSC) 2024 Graduation Ceremony, held at the SAFTI Military Institute this evening. This ceremony marked the completion of the 55th CSC, 25th CSC (National Service), and the 22nd and 23rdCSC (Executive) respectively. A total of 268 leaders graduated from the GKS CSC, comprising 141 regular officers, 56 National Service (NS) officers, 46 military experts and 4 warrant officers from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF); 1 Singapore Police Force officer; and 20 international officers from 12 countries. The CSC, CSC (NS) and CSC (Executive) prepare officers for senior command and staff appointments in the SAF and are the highest level of formal military education offered in Singapore for Regular, NS and International Officers.

Singapore and Australian Navies Conduct Bilateral Maritime Exercise Singaroo

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) are conducting the 22nd edition of Exercise Singaroo – a bilateral maritime exercise between both navies. Held from 28 to 30 October 2024 at RSS Singapura – Changi Naval Base, this year's exercise focuses on a series of shore-based exercises and professional exchanges, including simulator training for conventional warfare and damage control. The exercise involves personnel from the RSN's Victory-class Missile Corvette RSS Vigour and Formidable-class frigate RSS Stalwart, and the RAN's Anzac-class frigate HMAS Stuart.
