Prime Minister (PM) and Minister for Finance Mr Lawrence Wong visited the 6th Singapore Division/Headquarters Sense & Strike (6 Div/HQ SS) of the Singapore Army this morning.

Prime Minister (PM) and Minister for Finance Mr Lawrence Wong visited the 6th Singapore Division/Headquarters Sense & Strike (6 Div/HQ SS) of the Singapore Army this morning.
PM Wong was briefed on 6 Div/HQ SS’ transformation to integrate capabilities across the Singapore Army’s Intelligence and Artillery domains, as well as cross-service integration efforts between the Singapore Army, the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), and the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS). He also interacted with soldiers undergoing the Division’s Advanced Competency Training[1].
During the visit, PM Wong observed a segment demonstrating how the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) integrates sense and strike capabilities into a cohesive, networked system. The showcase highlighted a Robotics Command, Control and Communications (C3) System developed by the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA), which enables a single operator to orchestrate multiple Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) drone assets, delivering near real-time situational awareness in complex urban environments. Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Computer Vision techniques, sensor data from the drone feeds is fused and translated into actionable targets, enabling rapid and coordinated engagement by a suite of precision shooters such as the SAF’s High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), fighter jets and AH-64D Apache attack helicopters.
PM Wong also engaged NSFs, NSmen and regular personnel from 6 Div/HQ SS and the SAF, as well as defence technology partners. He thanked them for their unwavering commitment towards defending our nation and for being adaptable and competent in operating emerging capabilities.
PM Wong was accompanied by Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing, Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral Aaron Beng, Chief of Army Major-General Cai Dexian, and other senior officers from the Singapore Army.
