733 MINDEF/SAF Personnel Recognised with the National Day Awards

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Heng Chee How, Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad and Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General (LG) Melvyn Ong Su Kiat officiated at the National Day Awards Investiture held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this afternoon.

In 2021, 733 personnel from MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) were recognised for their outstanding performances and dedication to duty and service to the nation. A total of 99 Commendation Medals, 147 Efficiency Medals and 512 Long Service Medals were awarded to both military and non-military personnel. 25 personnel were awarded with both the Commendation/Efficiency Medal and the Long Service Medal.

At the National Day Awards Ceremony held on 28 November 2021, LG Ong was conferred the Meritorious Service Medal (Military) and former Chief of Army Major-General Goh Si Hou was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Military). During the ceremony, one MINDEF personnel was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold), and 14 SAF officers and six MINDEF personnel were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Silver) respectively. In addition, 29 SAF officers and 13 MINDEF personnel were awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze) (Military) and Public Administration Medal (Bronze) respectively.
