A Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Full-time National Serviceman (NSF) tested positive for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) on 29 August 2020. He has been identified by the Ministry of Health as Case 56827. The serviceman is currently warded at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID). The SAF has been in contact with him to render support and assistance.
The serviceman last visited his place of work at Bedok Camp II on 28 August 2020. As a precautionary measure, the SAF has carried out immediate and thorough disinfection of the premises the serviceman had been in. All close and casual contacts at the camp have been administered a COVID-19 swab test, which have all returned negative.
All servicemen have been reminded to adhere strictly to cohorting measures, minimising interactions even within these functional groups. They are also to continue with safe management measures, which include maintaining safe distancing, observing strict personal health and hygiene regimes, and consulting a doctor if they feel unwell.
