Singapore and Indonesian Air Forces to Perform Combined Flypast in Celebration of 50 years of Friendship

To mark 50 years of diplomatic relations between Singapore and Indonesia ("RISING50"), the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU) will be performing a combined "RISING50" flypast off the coast of the Marina South area on 7 September 2017. The flypast is planned to commence at 2.30pm. The combined flypast will be witnessed by Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Indonesia's President Joko Widodo from the Marina Bay Cruise Centre, Singapore.

The combined flypast, made up of ten RSAF F-16s and ten TNI-AU F-16s, will perform two flypast profiles. The first profile is an 'arrowhead' formation led by the RSAF, followed by a combined '50' formation 20 minutes later. The TNI-AU will form the digit '5' and the RSAF the digit '0'. Trailing the combined flypast would be an aerial salute performed by five RSAF F-15SGs in a bomb burst manoeuvre. After the combined flypast, a post-flypast celebration will be held at Roesmin Nurjadin Air Force Base, Pekanbaru, Indonesia, for the participants of the combined flypast as well as senior RSAF and TNI-AU officers.

There will also be a rehearsal for the combined flypast planned on 5 September 2017 at the same time. The public may view the combined flypast on both 5 and 7 September 2017 from the Marina South area. The public may refer to the RSAF Facebook and Twitter for real time updates of the combined flypast event as well as the flight route for the combined flypast.
