Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen attended the Opening Ceremony of the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum on 30 October 2023. Dr Ng interacted with senior People's Liberation Army officials, and other defence ministers from ASEAN and the region on the sidelines of the Opening Ceremony. Last night, Dr Ng attended the Opening Dinner for the 10th Beijing Xiangshan Forum where Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission General Zhang Youxia delivered the opening remarks.

Dr Ng will speak at the plenary session titled "Asia-Pacific Security Architecture: Present and Future", and call on Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission General He Weidong tomorrow.

The Beijing Xiangshan Forum, co-organised by the China Association of Military Sciences and the China Institute for International Strategic Studies, brings together high-level defence, military and foreign affairs leaders from around the world to discuss a range of security issues. The topics discussed at this year's forum will include the responsibilities of major countries and global security cooperation, the role of developing countries in global security as well as regional security and development.
