Malaysia Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin is in Singapore to attend the 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD).

Malaysian Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin met with Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing on the sidelines of the 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue this morning.
Malaysia Minister of Defence Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin is in Singapore to attend the 23rd Shangri-La Dialogue (SLD). Dato’ Seri Khaled met with Minister for Defence, Mr Chan Chun Sing on the sidelines of the SLD this morning.
During the meeting, both Defence Ministers reaffirmed the warm and longstanding bilateral relationship between Singapore and Malaysia, and discussed ways to further enhance mutual trust and understanding between both defence establishments. The Ministers also emphasised the value of cooperation between Singapore and Malaysia through regional multilateral platforms such as the ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting (ADMM), ADMM-Plus and the Five Power Defence Arrangements.
Singapore and Malaysia’s defence establishments interact regularly across a wide range of activities, including bilateral and multilateral exercises, visits, professional exchanges, and cross-attendance of courses. These regular interactions underscore the warm and longstanding defence relations between our countries, and help strengthen mutual understanding and trust.
Dato’ Seri Khaled is in Singapore with a delegation of senior Malaysian officials. As part of his visit, Dato’ Seri Khaled also called on Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister for Home Affairs Mr K Shanmugam earlier this afternoon.
