The acquisition of the M30A2 GMLRS Alternative Warhead pods is part of the Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF's) High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), and is acquired based on the SAF's training and operational requirements. This acquisition is part of the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and SAF’s multi-year procurement effort to ensure operational readiness and meet Singapore's defence needs.
