Background
The Singapore Armed Forces’ (SAF) marks its 60th anniversary (SAF60) in 2025, commemorating six decades of commitment and dedication in safeguarding Singapore’s sovereignty and security. To mark this milestone, the SAF has unveiled a commemorative SAF60 logo alongside a specially curated exhibition which honours those who contributed towards the defence of our nation and its sovereignty over the last 60 years. The exhibition also outlines the SAF’s steadfast efforts and commitment to ensure it can ably defend our nation amidst the evolving security environment.
SAF60 Logo
The SAF60 logo represents the essence of the SAF's history and values throughout its sixty years of service and commitment to national defence, as well as its future aspirations. At the heart of the logo, the letters "SAF" are interconnected, symbolising the interoperability that have made the organisation a formidable fighting force. The prominent "60" stands as a bold testament to six decades of dedicated service, with its thick, continuous brush strokes representing the SAF's tenacity and ongoing transformation.
The logo's four distinct colours represent (from left to right) the Singapore Army, Republic of Singapore Navy, Republic of Singapore Air Force, and Digital and Intelligence Service. The forward-angling of these colour elements signifies the SAF's progressive and future-oriented outlook. Incorporating national symbols, the logo features the red colour, crescent moon, and five stars of Singapore's flag. These elements serve as a powerful reminder of the nation's enduring spirit and the SAF's role in preserving it. The backdrop, a stylised silhouette of Singapore, acts as a vivid reminder of the SAF’s duty: to protect Singapore’s sovereignty, security, and way of life.
Over the past 60 years, the SAF has made significant contributions to Singapore's peace and security through both defence and diplomacy efforts. This logo pays tribute to the men and women who have served with pride, made sacrifices, and worked together with a deep sense of camaraderie for the defence of our nation.
SAF60 Exhibition Showcase & Roving Sites
The SAF60 Exhibition Showcase, is jointly organised by Defence Collective Singapore (DCS), Nexus, and the SAF. Themed “Defending Our Home, Securing Our Future”, it traces the SAF's transformation journey from its early days to the present and outlines its plans for the future. The SAF60 exhibition showcase features a collection of human-interest stories and experiences of past and present servicemen and women. Apart from getting to learn more about the SAF, visitors can also play an interactive game to win exclusive collectible figurines dispensed by a gachapon machine. Online sticker packs will also be available on the various museums’ social media platforms, allowing visitors to share their experience and express their support for the SAF.
There will be three concurrent SAF60 Exhibition Showcases from 2nd to 30th April at the Singapore Discovery Centre, the Singapore Air Force Museum and the Singapore Navy Museum. Following this, the exhibition will rove to various public locations in the coming months.
