On behalf of the Singapore Government, the Ministry of Defence and the Singapore Armed Forces will donate approximately S$300,000 worth of humanitarian relief supplies to Bangladesh and Myanmar for the affected communities in the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Rakhine State. The offers of assistance have been conveyed to the Governments of Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Singapore is concerned about the humanitarian situation. In addition to our offers of bilateral assistance, we also stand ready to support efforts by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to utilise existing mechanisms to provide humanitarian assistance in accordance with the principles of the ASEAN Charter.
