Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific Makes Introductory Visit to Singapore

Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) General (GEN) Ronald P. Clark called on Senior Minister of State for Defence, Mr Zaqy Mohamad at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) yesterday.

Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific (USARPAC) General (GEN) Ronald P. Clark called on Senior Minister of State for Defence, Mr Zaqy Mohamad at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) yesterday. During their meeting, Mr Zaqy and GEN Clark reaffirmed the excellent and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and the US. They also discussed efforts to enhance defence cooperation between the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the US military.
GEN Clark is in Singapore from 27 to 29 April 2026 for his introductory visit, during which he also called on Chief of Army Major-General Cai Dexian after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF yesterday. GEN Clark visited the Singapore Army’s Combat Service Support Command (CSSCOM) at Kranji Camp III, where he was briefed on its role as a logistics hub for the SAF that leverages technology and innovation to support the SAF’s operations. He also visited SAFTI City, where he was briefed on how smart instrumentation and battlefield effects simulators are employed to enhance training realism and effectiveness for our soldiers.
GEN Clark’s visit underscores the excellent and long-standing bilateral defence relations between Singapore and the US. The Singapore Army and the USARPAC interact regularly through high-level visits, professional exchanges and bilateral and multilateral exercises. These interactions have deepened the mutual understanding between their personnel.
