Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI of Malaysia Visits the Singapore Armed Forces

 

 

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen hosted the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia, His Majesty Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah, to a visit at the Singapore Army's Pasir Ris Camp this afternoon. His Majesty was accompanied by YBhg. Dato' Sri Amran bin Mohamed Zin, Secretary General of the Malaysia Ministry of Foreign Affairs, YBhg. Datuk Isham bin Ishak, Secretary General of the Malaysia Ministry of Transport, His Excellency Dato' Dr. Azfar bin Mohamad Mustafar, High Commissioner of Malaysia, and other senior Malaysian officials. Also present during the visit were Chief of Army Major-General David Neo, and Head Air Operations Brigadier-General Chan Ching Hao.

His Majesty was briefed on the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) Commandos and Special Operations Task Force, observed a display of counter-terrorism capabilities and visited the Airborne-Trooper Training Facility. His Majesty also took a familiarisation ride on board the Republic of Singapore Air Force's CH-47F Heavy Lift Helicopter.

His Majesty is in Singapore on a three-day State Visit from 25 to 27 October 2022. His Majesty's visit to the SAF underscores the warm and long-standing bilateral relations between Singapore and Malaysia.
