CITATION

Mr Han Meow Kwang, Head Centre of Excellence from ST Engineering, was instrumental in building up Singapore's strategic capability in rocket motors. He pioneered and built up local capability for the design, development and production of solid propellant rocket motors used in mine clearing systems. He also developed the first filament composite rocket casing, which led to substantial weight savings and improved performance for munition systems. Recent innovations include rocket motor solutions that are Insensitive Munitions compliant, which improved the handling safety of the munition systems and at significantly lower cost. In recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions, Mr Han is awarded the DTP2021 Individual (Engineering) Award.
