Minister for Defence Meets United States Department of Defense Officials Participating in Tech Summit

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen met United States Department of Defense officials Dr Will Roper, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics; Dr Steven Walker, Director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency; and Ms Heidi Grant, Director of the Defense Technology Security Administration over lunch today. The officials are in Singapore to participate in the 2nd Singapore Defence Technology Summit (Tech Summit), organised by the Defence Science and Technology Agency from 26 to 28 June 2019. 

During the meeting, they discussed advancements in defence technology and its global implications. Both sides also reaffirmed the breadth and depth of the bilateral defence relationship and the strength of Singapore-US defence technology cooperation through professional exchanges.

The Tech Summit brings together some 400 global thought leaders, including leading defence technology policymakers, national armament directors, chief technology officers, industry chief executive officers, academics and entrepreneurs. The theme for this year's summit is the Proliferation of Technology and its Implications on Defence, Security and Society.
