NSmen Make-Up Pay Process Clarified
We thank Mr Tan Kin Lian for his feedback on the National Service (NS) make-up pay verification process ("Simplify process to certify NSmen's salary claims", 23 Jan 2018).
Employers are required to verify their Operationally Ready National Servicemen (NSmen) employees' information, such as employment status and income, in order for make-up pay to be processed accurately. To help employers, a link would be sent via email. This is similar to what Mr Tan had received.
The link directs them to the NS Portal homepage for secure login via SingPass. Once logged in, employers can access the employer's dashboard in two steps to verify a claim. Our system records show that Mr Tan had keyed in an invalid CPF submission number, which may have prevented him from completing the claim verification process.
