Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing is in Malaysia for a two-day introductory visit from 25 to 26 August 2025.

Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing is in Malaysia for a two-day introductory visit from 25 to 26 August 2025. As part of his visit, Mr Chan met with Malaysian Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim at the Parliament. During the meeting, Mr Chan and Dato’ Seri Anwar reaffirmed the close and longstanding bilateral relationship between Singapore and Malaysia. They also discussed regional security developments, including the situation along the Thailand and Cambodia border.
Earlier this morning, Mr Chan delivered a keynote address and engaged the students in a dialogue at PUSPAHANAS, the National Centre for Defence Studies under the Malaysia Ministry of Defence. In his speech, Mr Chan highlighted the importance of Singapore and Malaysia working together in this turbulent world. He said, “As close neighbours, our countries are interdependent, and our close ties, collective efforts, and shared responsibility can help us both navigate challenging times to ensure our mutual success.”
The dialogue session was attended by approximately 200 students of PUSPAHANAS.
