Officers, Military Experts, Warrant Officers and Defence Executive Officers Recognised at MINDEF/SAF Promotion Ceremonies 2021

The Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) are promoting 724 uniformed personnel from MINDEF Headquarters, Army, Navy, Air Force and Joint to the next higher rank this year. These promoted personnel include Regulars and Operationally Ready National Servicemen.
At a scaled-down promotion ceremony held at MINDEF today, Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen presented certificates to personnel promoted to the ranks of Brigadier-General (BG), Military Expert 8 (ME8), Colonel (COL), Military Expert 7 (ME7), DX16 under the Defence Executive Officer (DXO) scheme, Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) and Senior Warrant Officer (SWO). Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong also presented certificates to personnel promoted to the ranks of Senior Lieutenant Colonel (SLTC).
Personnel promoted to the ranks of Lieutenant Colonel (LTC), Military Expert 6 (ME6), Master Warrant Officer (MWO) and Major (MAJ) will receive their certificates from their respective Service Chiefs at various decentralised promotion ceremonies. Division and Formation Commanders will present certificates to the other ranks at decentralised ceremonies at the formation level.
A virtual promotion ceremony for DXOs was held earlier this week to recognise the contributions of MINDEF/SAF's non-uniformed personnel.
The annual promotion exercise is part of the ongoing effort to recognise, reward and groom officers, military experts, warrant officers and DXOs who have performed well and demonstrated potential to contribute further to MINDEF/SAF. All promotions will take effect from 1 July 2021.
