Gunners from the Artillery Formation paying their highest compliment to Corporal First Class (National Service) CFC(NS) Pang Wei Chong, Aloysius during the ramp ceremony.
The body of the late Corporal First Class (National Service) [CFC(NS)] Pang Wei Chong, Aloysius arrived in Singapore at around 1800hrs today (SG time) in a Republic of Singapore Air Force KC-135R tanker aircraft. The late CFC(NS) Pang was accorded due honours by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) through a homecoming ramp ceremony with Chief of Army Major-General Goh Si Hou in attendance, a Guard Of Honour and fellow soldiers of the Artillery Formation. The family of the late CFC(NS) Pang witnessed the ceremony.
At Paya Lebar Air Base, Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, accompanied by Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Melvyn Ong met a family member to offer the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and the SAF's condolences. Dr Ng also conveyed Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's personal condolences to the family and paid his respects to the late CFC(NS) Pang.
The late CFC(NS) Pang will be accorded the full honours of a military funeral. The cremation ceremony will be held at Mandai Crematorium on 27 January 2019.
MINDEF and the SAF will continue to render assistance and support to the family of the late CFC(NS) Pang.
