Minister for Defence Calls on the Sultan and Crown Prince of Brunei Darussalam

Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing, who is on a two-day introductory visit to Brunei, had an audience with the Sultan of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah. His Majesty and Mr Chan reaffirmed the importance of the special relationship between Brunei and Singapore, and our close and long-standing bilateral defence relationship. Mr Chan also thanked His Majesty for his attendance at Singapore’s 60th National Day Parade. His Majesty and Mr Chan noted our strong people-to-people ties, and both emphasised the need for both Singapore and Brunei to continue to work closely together.

Mr Chan also had an audience with the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah earlier this morning. His Highness and Mr Chan reaffirmed the close relations between both countries, and looked forward to the upcoming Young Leaders’ Programme (YLP) later this year.
