The RSN (Republic of Singapore Navy) is very glad for the opportunity to call on the PLA(N) (People's Liberation Army (Navy)) during her Midshipman Sea Training Deployment. The PLA(N) have always extended their warm hospitality to the RSN.
While in Qingdao for the port call, the crew and midshipmen on RSS Intrepid will also be joining in PLA(N)'s Navy Day celebrations and taking part in the naval base open house on 23 April. We look forward to celebrating this occasion with the PLA(N).
The RSN is also looking forward to PLA(N)'s participation in the International Maritime Review as part of RSN's Golden Jubilee celebrations in May 2017.
I hope that as the RSN turns 50 this year, our navies can contribute this spirit of building friendships and cooperation into the years ahead, to work towards forging an inclusive and stable security framework for the region.
