The Chief of Army of the New Zealand Defence Force Major General (MG) Rose King called on Chief of Defence Force Vice Admiral (VADM) Aaron Beng this afternoon. During their meeting, VADM Beng and MG King reaffirmed the close and long-standing relationship between the Singapore Army and the New Zealand Army, and discussed ways to deepen defence cooperation between both armies.
MG King, who is in Singapore from 21 to 23 September 2025 for her introductory visit, also met with Chief of Army Major-General Cai Dexian after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF. As part of her programme, MG King visited SAFTI City, where she was briefed on its key features and how the Singapore Armed Forces has integrated advanced simulations and technology to create a realistic and effective urban training facility.
MG King’s visit to Singapore underscores the strong partnership between the Singapore Army and the New Zealand Army. Both armies interact regularly through professional exchanges, cross attendance of courses and participation in exercises such as Exercise Thunder Warrior. These mutually beneficial interactions have deepened the bilateral defence relationship, and strengthened trust and interoperability between both armies and their personnel.
