The RSN's Victory-class Missile Corvette RSS Vigour participated in the third edition of AMNEX, hosted by the Royal Malaysian Navy.

The Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)'s Victory-class Missile Corvette RSS Vigour participated in the third edition of the ASEAN Multilateral Naval Exercise (AMNEX), along with 9 ships from other ASEAN Member States’ navies. Hosted by the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) from 16 to 22 August 2025, the exercise comprised both shore and sea phases.
The opening ceremony and shore phase of the exercise was held on 16 Aug in Penang, Malaysia. The shore phase included the ASEAN Navies’ City parade, warship visits and also the Naval Engineering Conference (NEC). The NEC’s theme was “Innovation and Technology Towards Improving Ship Survivability at Sea.” From 20 to 22 Aug, as part of the sea phase, the ships participated in the ASEAN Fleet Review (AFR) followed by the conduct of various serials such as manoeuvring and communication drills in the Malacca Strait. The AFR involved a sail-past of participating ships from the ASEAN navies where Yang Di-Pertua Negeri of Penang, TYT Tun Dato' Seri Utama Hj Ramli bin Ngah Talib was the Reviewing Officer. Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral (RADM) Sean Wat and other ASEAN navy chiefs were also present to witness the sail-past. The exercise concluded on 22 Aug with a farewell sail-past out at sea.
RADM Wat also attended the 19th ASEAN Navy Chiefs' Meeting (ANCM) which was held in tandem with AMNEX from 18 to 21 Aug. The ANCM is an annual meeting held amongst ASEAN navy chiefs to discuss maritime issues and multilateral naval cooperation. This year's ANCM, hosted by the RMN, was centred on the theme of "Advancing the ASEAN Navies’ Unity – Synergising Innovation and Technology in Strengthening ASEAN Maritime Security."
The 19th ANCM and the third edition of AMNEX are part of regular defence exchanges among ASEAN Member States, which aim to facilitate strategic dialogue and improve practical cooperation among militaries. Such interactions contribute to confidence building and the promotion of stable military-to-military relations to enhance regional peace and stability.
