1086 Graduate as SAF Specialists and Military Experts

Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Manpower Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash inspected the 64th Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade at Pasir Laba Camp this evening. A total of 1086 graduands comprising 892 from the Singapore Army, 81 from the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), 49 from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), and 64 from the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), graduated as Specialists and Military Experts of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

Addressing the graduands at the parade, Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash reaffirmed the role that specialists play amidst the technological transformation of the SAF. He said, “while cutting-edge technology gives the SAF an edge, ultimately it will be the resolve of our people and soldiers that would win the day… it is your leadership on the ground, your ability to inspire and bring out the very best of every Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Guardian, that will ensure that the SAF employ these advanced technologies to the  fullest of our ability.”

Highlighting the role of Total Defence and National Service in safeguarding Singapore, Mr Dinesh Vasu Dash said, “military defence is anchored on National Service, which has become part and parcel of the lives of many Singaporeans. We must all play our part towards Total Defence. This includes supporting our National Servicemen in their duties, continuously learning new skills, and actively safeguarding against disinformation and subversion.”

The graduation parade marked the completion of the 22-week Specialist Cadet Course for graduands from the Singapore Army, the RSN, the RSAF and the DIS, where they trained under rigorous and realistic conditions to sharpen their respective vocation expertise. The newly graduated Specialists and Military Experts will go on to assume command, training and staff appointments in the SAF. Present at the parade were senior SAF commanders, as well as families and friends of the graduands.
