898 Graduate as SAF Specialists and Military Experts

Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry, Ms Gan Siow Huang inspected the 65th Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade at Pasir Laba Camp this evening. A total of 898 graduands comprising 797 from the Singapore Army, 29 from the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN), 13 from the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF), and 59 from the Digital and Intelligence Service (DIS), graduated as Specialists and Military Experts of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
Addressing the graduands at the parade, Ms Gan reaffirmed the role that specialists play amidst the technological transformation of the SAF. She said, “Even with the most advanced capabilities, it is the people in the SAF who make the decisive difference. From operating sophisticated weapon systems, drones in complex battlefields, to protecting our critical information infrastructure against advanced persistent threats, you translate technological capability into operational strength. Your leadership will ensure that our soldiers, sailors, airmen and guardians remain ready, confident and capable of rising to the occasion.”
Highlighting the importance of effective leadership in Singapore’s defence, Ms Gan said, “Leadership has always been the cornerstone of our defence. Rank gives you authority, but true leadership builds trust. How you train your people, perform under pressure, and care for your team will directly affect their morale, confidence and effectiveness… Keep building knowledge, honing your skills, and stay grounded in purpose — to protect Singapore and our people.”
The graduation parade marked the completion of the 22-week Specialist Cadet Course for graduands from the Singapore Army, the RSN, the RSAF and the DIS, where they trained under rigorous and realistic conditions to sharpen their respective vocation expertise. The newly graduated Specialists and Military Experts will go on to assume command, training and staff appointments in the SAF. Present at the parade were senior SAF commanders, as well as families and friends of the graduands.
