Chief of the Royal Malaysian Air Force General (GEN) Dato' Sri Haji Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris called on Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) earlier today. During the call, Mr Chan and GEN Norazlan reaffirmed the warm and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Malaysia, and emphasised the importance of deepening cooperation and strengthening people-to-people ties between the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).
GEN Norazlan, who is on his introductory visit to Singapore from 19 to 20 August 2025, also called on Chief of Air Force Major-General (MG) Kelvin Fan after inspecting the Guard of Honour at MINDEF. MG Fan presented GEN Norazlan with the RSAF Honorary Wings at a ceremony held at MINDEF in recognition of his commitment to strengthening relations between the RSAF and the RMAF. As part of his visit, GEN Norazlan also visited Changi Air Base (East), where he was briefed on and viewed a static display of an A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport.
GEN Norazlan’s visit underscores the warm and long-standing bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and Malaysia. The RSAF and the RMAF have enhanced mutual understanding and professional ties over the years through regular interactions such as people-to-people exchanges, fighter landaways, and bilateral exercises such as SAREX MALSING. Both Air Forces also cooperate on multilateral platforms such as the Five Power Defence Arrangements, which contributes constructively to the regional security architecture.
