The Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy (RTN), Admiral (ADM) Na Arreenich, called on Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, at the Ministry of Defence this morning. ADM Na, who is in Singapore for an introductory visit from 9 to 11 March 2016, also called on Chief of Defence Force, Major-General Perry Lim, and Chief of Navy, Rear-Admiral Lai Chung Han, earlier today after inspecting a Guard of Honour.
As part of his programme, ADM Na visited the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN)'s Changi Naval Base and the Changi Regional Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Coordination Centre.
ADM Na's visit underscores the close and long-standing defence relations between Singapore and Thailand. The RSN and the RTN interact regularly through high-level visits, cross-attendance of courses, professional exchanges, as well as bilateral and multilateral exercises such as the biennial Exercise Singsiam. These interactions have enhanced the interoperability between both navies, and deepened the mutual understanding and people-to-people ties.
