The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) has received the final prototype of its next generation Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV). The AFV will be the mainstay of our mechanised forces, operating alongside the Bionix Infantry Fighting Vehicle, to fulfil the SAF's operational requirements.
Developed together with the Defence Science and Technology Agency and our local defence industry, the next generation AFV will provide our armoured forces with enhanced firepower, protection, mobility and situational awareness.
Initiated in 2006 to replace the ageing ULTRA M113 AFV which has been in service since the early 70s, this next generation AFV will be commissioned by 2019.
