RSAF's F-15SG and Apache Helicopter Set to Wow Crowds with Integrated Flying Manoeuvres at Singapore Airshow

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will be participating in Singapore Airshow 2016 (SA16), held from 16 to 21 February at the Changi Exhibition Centre. For the first time, the RSAF will put up an integrated aerial display by an F-15SG multi-role fighter aircraft and an AH-64D Apache attack helicopter. The RSAF is also involved in the static aircraft display at SA16. Members of the public will have the opportunity to learn more about the RSAF's capabilities through the different aircraft and systems on display.

The RSAF integrated aerial display team will perform a total of 11 manoeuvres to showcase the precision and coordination between two different aircraft types of different manoeuvrability and capabilities. One of the highlights of the 12-minute aerial display is the Vertical Punch, a new integrated manoeuvre that is being performed for the first time. Elaborating on the aerial display team's efforts for SA16, the F-15SG flight lead, Major Max Ng said, "We have undergone intensive training to finesse the aerial manoeuvres to showcase the grace and power of the two aircraft and to thrill the audience. The integrated display highlights the professionalism and capabilities of our Air Force and personnel."

The RSAF will also showcase 11 military assets, including the F-15SG fighter aircraft, Black Knight F-16C aircraft in its red and white paint scheme, CH-47 Chinook helicopter, Heron 1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, Gulfstream 550 Airborne Early Warning aircraft and the Surface-to-Air PYthon-5 and DERby (SPYDER) Ground-Based Air Defence system.

The RSAF has participated in the biennial Singapore Airshow since its inaugural edition in 2008. Commending the RSAF participants for their professionalism and dedication, Chairman of the RSAF Sub-Committee for SA16, Lieutenant Colonel Ian Tan said, "The RSAF is honoured to be a participant at the Singapore Airshow 2016. The Airshow is a good opportunity for the RSAF to showcase our capabilities as a modern, full-spectrum and professional air force, operated by people who are well-trained and committed to the defence of Singapore."
