RSS Tenacious Participates in International Fleet Review in Indonesia

The Republic of Singapore Navy's RSS Tenacious joined ships from Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, China, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Sri Lanka, Thailand, USA and Vietnam to take part in an International Fleet Review (IFR) in Padang, West Sumatra, Indonesia today, at the invitation of the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL).
RSS Tenacious was part of the fleet reviewed by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. Personnel from RSS Tenacious also participated in a City Parade, while personnel from the Music and Drama Company participated in a Dance and Band performance.
The IFR was held in conjunction with the 15th Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS), held from 13 to 14 April 2016. Chief of Navy Rear-Admiral Lai Chung Han will be attending the symposium. The WPNS is a series of biennial meetings between the navies of Pacific nations on maritime issues.
The Singapore Armed Forces and the Indonesian National Defence Forces interact regularly through exercises, visits, professional exchanges, and the cross-attendance of courses. These interactions have deepened the close and long-standing defence relationship between the two countries.
