Fact Sheet: SAF Engineering Scholarship

With effect from 2016, the SAF Engineering Scholarship (SES) will be introduced to attract bright young men and women with the interest and commitment to join the SAF as military engineers on the Military Domain Experts Scheme (MDES). These scholars will form the next generation of leaders in our engineering corps who will catalyse the next phase of development of the SAF.

As military engineers, they will assume a range of challenging engineering appointments in MINDEF/SAF. There are also opportunities for them to be rotated to the Defence Technology Community e.g., Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) and DSO National Laboratories to augment the build-up of engineering expertise in the Defence-technology ecosystem.  

The first batch of SES holders will be receiving their scholarships this year at the MINDEF/SAF Scholarship Awards Ceremony at the Istana.
