Temasek Club organises a range of activities for all ages. In addition to popular group activities such as Tai Chi, bowling and billiards, the club intends to organise outdoor activities such as running, biking and hiking at the Nature Reserve nearby. The club encourages the use of swimming pool for unit cohesion. The club has also acquired big inflatable playgrounds for children.
Membership
The membership base has grown over the years to its present base of around 16,000. Membership is automatic with no entrance fee for all in-service SAF officers. Ex-regulars can choose to rejoin the club as an Associate Member at a fee. Operationally ready National Servicemen (NSmen) officers can also join as a Term Member for five years at fees as well.
To maintain the new clubhouse facilities, the revised membership subscription fees of thirty dollars for all members, except full-time NSFs and Spouse Members, will take effect from November 2015. The subscription fees remains at five dollars for full-time NSFs and Spouse Members.
Reasons for the Relocation of Temasek Club
Owing to the three-fold increase in membership base and the limitations due to land space and infrastructural design, the need for a new and bigger premise arose. To better meet the needs of the members and their families, Temasek Club relocated to Rifle Range Road.
The Urban Redevelopment Authority had also identified the land previously occupied by the Portsdown Road premise to be part of the national One-North Master Plan Development.
