1,003 Graduate as SAF Specialists

Chief of Army Major-General (MG) Perry Lim reviewed the 20th Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade at Pasir Laba camp this evening. A total of 1,003 Specialist Cadets (SCTs) from the Singapore Army, the Republic of Singapore Navy and the Republic of Singapore Air Force graduated as specialists of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).Addressing the graduands at the parade, MG Lim spoke about the important role that 3rd Generation SAF Specialists have to assume in securing the nation's defence. He said, "Generations before you have done their duty to keep Singapore safe, secure and strong.

It is now your turn to step up to take responsibility to defend our home, to protect our families and friends and to secure our future and way of life." MG Lim also reminded the specialists to make the effort to engage their men and act as a link between the soldiers and the SAF leadership. "Learn to maximize their strengths, unlock their potential and motivate them to give their best during National Service. Talk to them to understand their challenges, as you also help them understand what the SAF expects from them."The graduation parade marked the completion of the 22-week Specialist Cadet Course, where the SCTs trained under rigorous and realistic conditions to develop leadership and combat skills, and deepen their understanding of the other vocations in the SAF. Present at the parade were families and friends of the graduands and senior SAF officers.
