596 MINDEF/SAF Personnel Recognised With National Day Awards

Second Minister for Defence Mr Chan Chun Sing and Minister of State for Defence Dr Mohamad Maliki Bin Osman officiated at the National Day Awards Investiture 2014 held at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) this evening. This year, 596 personnel from MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) were presented awards in recognition of their outstanding performance and dedication to duty and service.
A total of 81 Commendation Medals, 114 Efficiency Medals and 415 Long Service Medals were given out to both military and non-military personnel. 14 personnel received both the Commendation/Efficiency Medal and the Long Service Medal. Spouses of the award recipients, as well as senior MINDEF officials and SAF officers were also present at the investiture.
Later this month on 23 November 2014, President Dr Tony Tan Keng Yam will officiate at the National Day Awards Ceremony, where 30 senior SAF officers will receive the Public Administration Medal. Two SAF officers will be awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold) (Military), while 12 and 16 SAF officers will be awarded the Public Administration Medal (Silver) (Military), and Public Administration Medal (Bronze) (Military) respectively.
