Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Mr Masagos Zulkifli inspecting the 18th Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade at Pasir Laba Camp.
Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr Masagos Zulkifli reviewed the 18th Specialist Cadet Graduation Parade at Pasir Laba Camp this evening, where 1,111 Specialist Cadets (SCT) graduated as specialists of the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).
Addressing the graduands at the parade, Mr Masagos spoke about the important role that 3rd Generation SAF Specialists play in an evolving operating environment. "The security challenges today are wide-ranging, ever-evolving and unpredictable, ranging from terrorism to piracy and cyber attacks. To stay ahead of these threats, the SAF has over the years broadened and deepened its capabilities by leveraging new technologies, weaponry and platforms. There will be greater decentralisation of operations and more autonomy given to our ground troops to enable them to fight more effectively and efficiently," he said.
The graduation parade marked the completion of the 22-week Specialist Cadet Course where the SCTs went through rigorous and realistic training to develop leadership and combat skills. The course also deepened their understanding of the other vocations in the SAF. Present at the parade were the families and friends of the graduands and senior SAF officers.
