Vice Chairman of the People's Republic of China Central Military Commission Meets DPM Teo

Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean met Member of the Politburo and Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the People's Republic of China General (GEN) Fan Changlong this morning. Also present at the meeting were Second Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing, Permanent Secretary (Defence) Chan Yeng Kit, Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng, and senior defence officials from both MINDEF and the Singapore Armed Forces and the People's Liberation Army.

During the meeting, DPM Teo and GEN Fan reaffirmed both countries' commitment to bilateral defence ties and interactions. They also exchanged views on regional security developments.  The meeting underscores the warm and friendly bilateral defence relations between China and Singapore. The armed forces of both countries interact regularly through the exchange of visits, courses, seminars and port calls.
